Aftermath
After the chaos of the fire, when the last embers are extinguished, and nature starts her long recovery, there is a forest that remains. It doesn't resemble what we think of as a forest, but it exists. It exists in the form of dead snags, fallen logs, and resilient grasses. When the fire is gone, and nature is left to recover, we see things we didn't see before. Our vision is not obstructed by leaves, needles, brush, or other vegetation. We see land forms, distant formations, ridges, and valleys that weren't apparent before. In a way, we see more... and in a way, we feel more.
